I HAVE BEEN AN ARTIST MOST OF MY LIFE.
Dragonfly Gallery is a space to sell my original artwork with shipping around the United States. I am Maggie Bezuhly, a passionate artist specializing in acrylic and pastels.
As a little girl I used to watch my grandmother paint and it seemed like she was having so much fun, and I knew that it was what I wanted to do. I love color and I developed my interest in Pastel in college. After the second semester of drawing I was getting bored with the charcoal drawings, so I talked the teacher into letting me use pastels. By the end of the semester everyone in class was using pastels. This was a big turning point for me in my art work, I have been drawing with pastels ever since. I’m inspired by nature, the bright colors, bright sunny days even the gloomy days gives me inspiration. It is always a challenge to try and duplicate what nature has to offer.
I was also very interested in creating things three-dimensionally. I was in 7th grade when an art teacher introduced me to clay and have been hooked ever since. Working with clay gives me a different perspective and it also helps me visualize things in two- dimension when I’m painting.
My hope is that my work gives an aspiring artist the inspiration to try no matter what the outcome may be.
